Why do people want to learn Chinese?

Chinese government is hated because of how they treat civilians, Hong Kong (technically not part of Northern China) is being suppressed by the North and no one is helping them as they beg the English to take over again.
So no they're not hated, just there government.

Any normal people that hear English country would assume it as UK, but a stupid one would automatically think it as US, even though the topic was about Hong Kong asking English to take over again, which in history clearly stated that it was UK that took over Hong Kong in the past.

I wouldnt say that's the only reason their government is hated. The list is long but they also have a big hand in those giant mines that have kids digging for metal. They pollute the earth as well. Just to name a few..

There are more places that uses Chinese than just China, like Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore etc.

Also the reason I learn Chinese is because I was told that I can learn Japanese easier that way.

Well true you can learn Japanese easier after you learned Chinese. BUT that only make it took far longer to learn Japanese. For example, if you have ability to learn Japanese in a month, you would be able to change it into 2-3 weeks if you have learned Chinese. But the time you took to learn Chinese itself would be 1 month, maybe even longer. So you waste more time learning both language rather than straightly learn Japanese.
Unless if you going to use both language in the future, then the step would be faster by learning Chinese first.

If you don't like Chinese, I suggest you just skip it since it's just a "Bonus".

I studied only Japanese and now in a Japanese company :)

Years of watching anime i unintentionally learned how to understand and speak Japanese 😅

Fun fact I actually watched an entire anime series without any subtitles a few years ago 😅

The first time I realized that I unintentionally learned to understand Japanese was when I first watched Naruto Shippuden movie “lost towers” I think that was the name. There were no subtitles at the beginning scene but I actually didn’t notice it and then there were missing subtitles in the middle of the movie and I accidentally looked and I realized that I wasn’t even reading the subtitles before that’s why I didn’t notice it until I saw the missing subtitles and I went back and realized that in my head I was translating the Japanese correctly 😅

30 years and i've learned a few Japanese words not full conversations and it hasn't taught me lick about how to read Chinese text. Maybe you developed a quirk. LoL. Universal Language! Plus Ultra! jk. LoL.
